German electronic music progenitors Kraftwerk began making its distinctive brand of synthesizer-driven, robotic-voiced pop in 1970. Ralf Hütter and Florian Schneider went on to expand their musical vision into cutting edge performances and embrace cutting-edge musical technology ahead of most musicians.

The band celebrates its 50th anniversary, with a return 3-D concert tour of North America that comes to the Queen Elizabeth Theatre on June 20.

From hits such as Autobahn and Trans-Europe Express, to more ambient releases, the group — Hütter, Henning Schmitz, Fritz Hilpert and Falk Grieffenhagen — has staged 3-D performances of key albums in its catalogue at prestigious venues such as MOMA (NYC), the Tate Modern Turbine Hall (London) and the Guggenheim Museum (Bilbao). Now, the band is returning to North America with a career-spanning set married to innovative 3-D projection for a unique concert experience.
