House to stakeholders: Submit position papers

The House Committee on Legislative Franchise has called on all concerned parties to submit their position papers on bills seeking the renewal of ABS-CBN Corp.’s franchise.
The panel’s chairman, Rep. Franz Alvarez, said the House of Representatives would start gathering position papers from various stakeholders, concerned individuals and groups.
But he clarified that the House would start formal hearings in May or August.
“Witnesses and resource persons will be summoned after all position papers have been carefully studied and all issues have been threshed out at the Committee level,” Alvarez said.
Rep. Antonio Albano, the panel’s vice chairman, gave assurances that the committee would take into consideration all the position papers officially submitted.
