Health officials say three more people in B.C. have recovered from COVID-19.

Health Minister Adrian Dix and the provincial health officer, Dr. Bonnie Henry, spoke in a weekly briefing Tuesday and said cases 2, 3 and 4 — a Vancouver resident and two relatives from the Wuhan region staying with that person — have recovered and are awaiting final tests before being released from quarantine at home.

Case 5 — a woman living in the B.C. Interior who had returned from Shanghai — is also doing well, while Case 6 and 7 — two Fraser Valley residents who had close contact with each other, one of which who had recently returned from Iran — remain at home in isolation while recovering.

Dix also cautioned against social media reports identifying individuals who had been reported as having COVID-19 or who had been tested for the virus, adding that privacy laws must be respected and that the individuals must be allowed privacy to rest and recover.

Henry said officials are not identifying workplaces or schools where there may be individuals who have been tested for COVID-19 as it can prompt “bad behaviour” from others and stop people from seeking testing or treatment when needed for fear of being targeted.

As of Feb. 25, the World Health Organization had recorded 80,239 cases globally, with 908 reported in the past 24 hours. The majority of cases remains in China, with 77,780 cases reported and 2,666 deaths. Outside of China, there are 2,459 cases and 34 deaths, with 11 reported in the past 24 hours.

More to come.
