Manitoba issues 217 invitations to candidates with Expression of Interest profiles

In the latest Manitoba Expression of Interest (EOI) draw, a total of 217 invitations for a provincial nomination went to immigration candidates wishing to settle in Canada’s central province.
The Manitoba Provincial Nominee Program (MPNP) held its 84th EOI draw on February 27. The province’s invitations, also known as Letters of Advice to Apply (LAAs) went to candidates of the following immigration three streams:
Out of the 217 LAAs issued in this draw, 20 went to candidates with profiles in the Express Entry system.

Express Entry is an application management system for three of Canada’s economic class immigration programs: Federal Skilled Worker Program, Federal Skilled Trades Program, and Canadian Experience Class.
Candidates who are eligible for an Express Entry-managed program are then given a Comprehensive Ranking System (CRS) score based on factors such as age, work experience, education, and official language proficiency.
The highest-scoring candidates are invited to apply for permanent residence in regular Express Entry draws.
With a provincial nomination, an Express Entry candidate will receive an additional 600 points toward their overall CRS score, effectively guaranteeing them an Invitation to Apply (ITA).
To be considered for a provincial nomination from Manitoba, Express Entry candidates must have eligible work experience in one of Manitoba’s in-demand occupations, among other requirements.
They must also submit a separate Expression of Interest to the MPNP.
In order to be invited for a provincial nomination from Manitoba through both the Skilled Workers in Manitoba and Skilled Workers Overseas categories, candidates need to register an Expression of Interest (EOI) with the MPNP.
An EOI is an online profile that is ranked out of a score of 1,000. Points are awarded for a candidate’s education, work experience, connections to Manitoba and proficiency in English or French, among other factors.
A set number of the highest-scoring candidates receive an LAA, allowing them to apply for a provincial nomination for Canadian permanent residence from Manitoba.
In the latest draw, candidates invited under the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Stream had a score of 499.
The lowest-ranked candidate invited from the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream had a score of 707.

The Skilled Workers Overseas Category allows the MPNP to select and nominate skilled foreign workers who can help support Manitoba’s labour market.
Candidates must have an established connection to Manitoba such as close family or friends, previous education or work experience in the province, or an invitation through one of the MPNP’s Strategic Recruitment Initiatives, among other requirements.
They do not need to be in Manitoba at the time of application in order to qualify.
The 24 candidates invited through the Skilled Workers Overseas Stream were invited directly by the MPNP under a Strategic Recruitment Initiative.
Candidates invited through the Skilled Workers in Manitoba Category must be working in Manitoba and have a full-time, permanent job offer from their employer, among other criteria.
Manitoba international student graduates with in-demand skills may be invited under the International Education Stream.
This stream includes three sub-categories: Career Employment Pathway, Graduate Internship Pathway, and the Student Entrepreneur Pathway.
