The De La Salle-College of Saint Benilde School of Deaf Education and Applied Studies opens an online learning program on the fundamentals of Filipino sign language

Facilitated by Deaf native speakers, the program is designed to equip participants with the basic competency for sign language communication. It hopes to spread awareness and greater understanding of the Deaf community’s unique language and culture.

Commencing on September 14, the course will run for three hours a week within a span of 14 weeks and will end on Dec. 19, 2020.

Classes consist of synchronous sessions held via videoconferencing and asynchronous sessions through digital learning materials that allow the students to accomplish activities on their own pace.

The online sessions run from 8 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. per week, and students may choose their preferred day from Tuesdays to Fridays.

Registration is open until September 11. Interested participants may register for P3,500 and reserve their slots through http://bit/ly/OnlineFSLLP.
