The helmeted and mysterious duo — Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo — was formed in 1993.

Daft Punk had major success over the years, winning six Grammys and launching hits with “One More Time,” “Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger” and “Get Lucky.”

“Random Access Memories,” won album of the year at the 2014 Grammys and made history as the first electronic act to win the highest honor. Rolling Stone listed it is as one of the “500 Greatest Albums of All Time.”

Lee Daniels and Andra Day take on Billie Holiday’s legacy

Jazz icon Billie Holiday, as director Lee Daniels came to realize, was an unsung civil rights hero who was targeted by the US government for her drug use and her protest song, “Strange Fruit.”

“It made me think about the stories that aren’t told. And so I had to tell it through [‘The United States vs. Billie Holiday’],” Daniels said.

He met with Andra Day, a Grammy nominee but never acted. They connected over Holiday.

Day had a year and a half to prepare, and even drifted into Billie-isms.

“I was [smoking and drinking] and more emotionally vulnerable,” Day said.
