Comelec proclaims Bohol’s vice governor

TAGBILARAN CITY—The Commission on Elections (Comelec) on Wednesday proclaimed Provincial Board Member Dionisio Victor Balite as the newly elected vice governor of Bohol province.

Balite garnered a total of 361,722 votes while his rival, Vice Governor Rene Lopez Relampagos, got 323,998 votes.

Relampagos on Tuesday already conceded the race to Balite.

Balite, in his campaign sorties, likened himself to the balete tree which remains sturdy and strong even in the midst of nature’s fury.
