Summer is here and so are the special days to strengthen the ties that bind us together as Canadians.

Take part in the ‘Celebrate Canada’ days that highlight our ethnic, linguistic, cultural and regional diversity, which helps make Canada a truly inclusive and outward-looking country.

National Indigenous Peoples Day takes place on the summer solstice, June 21. It’s a special occasion to learn more about the rich and diverse cultures, voices, experiences and histories of First Nations, Inuit and Métis peoples. Click here to find activities happening in your neighbourhood.

In Canada, nearly 10 million people speak French. On June 24, on Saint-Jean-Baptiste Day and the National Day of Quebec, Francophones across the country show their pride by celebrating their language and their traditions. Bonne St-Jean! Find activities organized by Francophone communities across the country.

Multiculturalism is one of Canada’s great strengths. Canadian Multiculturalism Day, on June 17, celebrates the cultural diversity that enriches us collectively and builds a strong and vibrant Canadian society. Take this opportunity to reaffirm your commitment to equity, inclusion, and mutual respect. You can find a list of activities here.

And its Canada Day on July 1, 2022! A very special day to celebrate the country we call home, and an opportunity to shine a light on our people, as well as on Canadian diversity, inclusion and youth. Wherever you are, take part in July 1 activities and celebrate what makes you proud! Click here for Canada Day celebrations across the country!

You can find information on more events and activities on community websites and local media channels.
