‘It is greater than one meal.  One act of kindness can impact someone for a lifetime.’

Christmas is often a time for giving but for many families, it can be a challenging time. For over 80 years, the Christmas Bureau of Edmonton has been helping Edmontonians in need through their programs, supporting local families with various programs run through their foundation.

Since 1940, the Christmas Bureau has maintained one tradition – to provide a festive meal and coordination of Christmas giving. And while Edmonton has changed and grown over the years, the Christmas Bureau has kept paced to ensure that their services are culturally inclusive, encompassing all religions and traditions.

A connector of 100+ social service agencies, the Christmas Bureau provides those in need a one-stop application process for Christmas services. The Christmas Bureau compiles the client information into a centralized client database to deliver food hampers or food gift cards; gift cards for teens aged 13 to 17 through the Christmas Bureau Adopt-A-Teen program; and delivery of toys to children age 0 to 12 by their partners at 630 CHED Santa’s Anonymous Incorporated.

If you are looking at how you can get involved, the Christmas Bureau is accepting donations in several ways:

– Directly to the Christmas Bureau: your donation will be allocated by the Board of Directors to the program that needs your help the most

– The Food Hamper program: helping to ensure the preparation, coordination and delivery of food hampers to Edmontonians in need during the holidays

– Adopt-A-Teen program, providing gift cards for Edmonton teens ranging from 13 to 17 in age.

– And Tribute Giving: a donation on behalf of someone special, recognizing a milestone in someone’s life or in memory of a loved one with a Tribute Gift.
