REELECTONIST Makati Mayor Abigail “Abby” Binay is ahead in the mayoralty race, based on the official and partial count from the Commission on Elections’ canvassing board late Monday.

Results showed that with 86.48 percent of the votes tallied as of 7 p.m., the incumbent garnered 156,533 votes, followed by her brother, Jejomar Erwin or “Junjun,” who got 85,248.

The siblings have been in a bitter feud over the Makati mayoralty after Junjun Binay, a former mayor, jumped the gun on his sister last year during the filing of candidacies.

Their father, former vice president Jejomar Binay, who is running for a seat at the House of Representatives as a candidate in Makati’s first district, is behind former Makati mayor Kid Peña by less than 5,000 votes.

Mayor Binay’s husband and reelectionist 2ndDistrict Rep. Luis Campos is ahead in his district with 81,568 votes. NEIL JAYSON N. SERVALLOS
