MANILA, Philippines — Sen. Vicente Sotto III warned of “karma” as he questioned Sunday why some people were “obsessed in wanting” President Rodrigo Duterte sick.

Sotto issued the statement after speculations had surfaced that Duterte was hospitalized at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City. Malacañang dismissed this as “not true.”

“Why are some people so obsessed in wanting PRDD (President Rodrigo Roa Duterte) sick. It’s bad for the country. Ingat kayo. Baka makarma kayo,” Sotto said in a Twitter post.

Speculations that Duterte was sick and hospitalized at the Cardinal Santos Medical Center in San Juan City surfaced after he was out of the public eye for five days after he cast his vote in Davao City on May 13.
