Vancouver Weather: More snow or rain

VANCOUVER, B.C.: Friday, Jan. 17. Another winter storm is approaching B.C.’s South Coast Friday, bringing a mix of snow, freezing rain or rain, according to Environment and Climate Change Canada.  The agency posted a special weather statement early Friday morning, saying the storm, which will include strong winds, will begin tonight and continue Saturday. During the day Friday, expect it to be mainly cloudy, with a high of 2 C and periods of snow mixed with rain in the morning, and then a slight chance of flurries or showers in the afternoon. Higher elevations of the region could see another five centimetres of snow. Overnight, there is a chance of snow or rain, with an overnight low of 2 C. On Saturday, it looks like rain or snow in the morning, but by midday, the agency says any snow falling in Metro Vancouver and the Sunshine Coast will have changed over to rain. It also looks windy, with a high of 5 C. On Sunday, there is a good chance of rain and a high of 9 C. Then it looks like rain Monday through Wednesday, with highs of 8 C or 9 C.

Today: Mainly cloudy. Periods of snow mixed with rain beginning early this morning and ending this afternoon then a 30 per cent chance of flurries or rain showers late this afternoon. Fog patches dissipating this morning. Local snowfall amount 5 cm. High plus 2 C.

Tonight: Cloudy, with a 30 per cent chance of flurries or rain showers this evening. Periods of snow mixed with rain beginning late this evening. Local snowfall amount 2 to 4 cm. Windy near the Strait of Georgia. Temperature steady near plus 2 C.

Tomorrow: Rain. Rain mixed with snow early in the morning. Wind southeast 30 km/h except 60 near the Strait of Georgia. High plus 5 C.
