SEN. Ronald “Bato” Dela Rosa regretted the cancellation of his United States (US) visa and consequently, the loss of a long relationship but maintained that he had “no ill feelings against the American government”.

In a chance interview with reporters, Dela Rosa said politics was behind the cancellation but that he could not do anything about it.

Dela Rosa did not comment on President Rodrigo Duterte’s decision to end the Visiting Forces Agreement (VFA), which was allegedly a consequence of his cancelled US visa.

Dela Rosa said previously, however, that he would not support his colleagues in the Senate who would question the legality of the termination of the VFA before the Supreme Court.
