Yasmien Kurdi reveals she developed hives due to stress over daughter’s alleged bullying
Yasmien Kurdi revealed that she suffered from hives due to intense stress while dealing with her daughter Ayesha’s alleged bullying experience. She shared this as she opened up about how law school became her “healing ground”.
The actress is currently pursuing her law degree at the Arellano University School of Law.
On September 21, Yasmien took to Instagram to reflect on the battles she and her family had gone through and how law school eventually gave her something positive to focus on.
“After everything my family and I went through, I needed something to distract my mind from the pain and trauma,” she wrote.
It was back in 2024 when Yasmien claimed that a group of students at her daughter Ayesha’s former school had allegedly bullied her. Since then, the celebrity mom has remained vocal about her stand against bullying.
In April, Yasmien officially brought her complaint to the Department of Education (DepEd) as she continued to seek accountability.
Tapos nag stop pa siya class kailangan ulitin ang buong year in just 2-3months,” she continued.
The experience also affected Yasmien, who ended up having urticaria brought about by the stress and worry.
According to Cleveland Clinic, urticaria, more commonly known as hives, are “itchy, raised bumps or welts” that appear on the skin. The condition may be triggered by an allergic reaction as well as factors such as heat, cold, physical pressure, and stress.
In her Instagram post, Yasmien showed the red bumps that appeared on her skin because of the condition. At the time, she was breastfeeding her second child, Raya, and said she had to throw away her breast milk because it could no longer be consumed.
Amid everything she was dealing with, Yasmien said that law school allowed her to keep her mind occupied and focus on something positive.
It keeps my mind occupied, gives me purpose, and helps me focus on something positive instead of constantly [relieving] what happened.”
For Yasmien, pursuing law therefore became more than an academic goal. It became a space where she could redirect her energy and begin healing from what she and her family had experienced.
“Kaya for me, law school became my healing ground. ❤️,” she ended.
