Jenny Miller mourns the passing of her Nanay Naty: ‘I hope somehow, I made you proud’

Actress Jenny Miller took to social media to bid her farewell to her grandmother, Nanay Naty, who passed away on Sunday, September 20.

On Instagram, Jenny shared an emotional tribute to her grandmother, admitting that she found it difficult to put her feelings into words as she said her final goodbye.

 “Nay, di ko alam kung paano ako magsisimula. Ang hirap gumawa ng caption kapag letting go and saying goodbye, kasi nauuna yung luha at hindi na ako makapag-type. 😭,” she first wrote.

Jenny also expressed gratitude for being able to spend time with her grandmother during her final days, alongside her brother Eian Rances.

“Hindi mo alam kung gaano katatak sa isip at puso ko yung last conversation natin. Kahit hirap na hirap ka nang magsalita, hirap nang imulat ang mga mata mo at madalas ka nang nakakalimot, pilit mong binuksan ang mga mata mo para makita ako,” she said.

“Tinanong ka ng lahat kung sino ako. At walang pag-aalinlangan mong sinagot, ‘Jenny.’ 🥺”

The moment left a lasting impression on Jenny, who admitted feeling surprised that her grandmother was still able to recognize her despite the time they had spent apart.

“Nagulat ako. Hindi ko in-expect. Kasi alam ko na isa akong absentee na apo sa’yo. Wala ako sa maraming panahon na sana nandiyan ako para sa’yo, lalo na’t ako ang panganay na apo mong babae. I’m sorry, Nay, sa lahat ng pagkukulang ko,” she continued.

Jenny, however, believed that her grandmother understood why she had to be away from home for work.

“Pero alam ko rin na naiintindihan mo kung bakit kailangan kong lumayo, because I needed to work for a living. And I hope you knew that, no matter how far I was, you were always in my heart. I hope somehow, I made you proud of what I have become. 🤍 And now that you’re in heaven, I feel so blessed and grateful that you were my Lola. 🤍.”

“Thank you for the beautiful upbringing and for teaching me, even when I was young, to simply believe and give everything to God.”

Looking back, Jenny recalled how her grandmother was a constant presence during some of her childhood memories.

“Ikaw ang kasama ko sa simbahan, lalo na kapag Simbang Gabi. Ikaw ang gumigising sa akin. Sa hapon pagkatapos ng school, tatawagin mo na ako para mag-rosary, at sabay nating iikot si Mama Mary sa neighborhood natin. Those are memories I’ll carry with me forever. Thank you, Nay, for all the love, prayers, and lessons you gave me,” she stated.

Jenny also honored her grandmother for how she fought through her final days, saying: “Thank you because nakita naming lahat kung gaano ka lumaban. Pero siguro hanggang dito na lang talaga ang laban mo. Maybe Tatay was already waiting for you, para siya na ang makasayaw mo ngayon sa heaven. 🥺🤍”
