Kim Chiu to attend sister Lakam’s arraignment

MANILA — Actress Kim Chiu arrived Thursday at the Quezon City Hall of Justice for the arraignment of her sister Lakambini for qualified theft.

The case stemmed from alleged financial discrepancies amounting to about P44.4 million in the company where the siblings are co-stakeholders. 

Lakambini, 45, was arrested over the weekend. A Quezon City court set her bail at P5.8 million, which was later lowered to about P5.6 million. 

Kim previously said the decision to pursue legal action “did not come easily.” 

“It is one of the most painful steps I have ever taken in my life,” she added.

In an official statement released by LEaP Legal and Technical Consultancy (Lilagan Law Office), lawyer Margrein Archernar Gregana clarified that the complaint was strictly a corporate matter rather than a personal dispute.

“The charges involve corporate funds that were unlawfully taken,” said Gregana. “These actions were taken strictly by HOLB (House of LittleBunny Philippines, Inc)… to recover the company’s missing funds and ensure accountability among those involved,” she added.
