Carlos Yulo Proposed to Chloe San Jose With Two Rings—Here Are the Details of the Statement Sparklers

Each carries a story far beyond the proposal itself. Inspired by the two gold medals Chloe helped Carlos achieve during the 2024 Paris Olympics, the rings became more than just symbols of forever; they became lifelong reminders of their shared journey that led them to their engagement, which unfolded about nine months ago, on December 18, 2025, in Tagaytay City.
And the true meaning behind the proposal lies in the details. The moment seemed to follow the tradition of a marriage proposal we all know, with one ring marking the occasion. But the story had another detail waiting to be revealed.

The first ring features an elongated oval-cut aqua or blue-green center stone, surrounded by a floral sunburst cluster halo. Marquise-, pear-, and round-shaped accent stones radiate outward like petals, complemented by smaller pavé-set stones that fill the surrounding structure. Set against a polished white-metal band, the arrangement creates a regal, sculptural floral effect.
According to a representative from JMA Jewelry, the brand that crafted the exquisite engagement rings, the first ring Carlos gave Chloe features “a 5.24 carat oval Paraíba tourmaline.”
Then came the unexpected second reveal, which turned a traditional proposal into something uniquely theirs.
The second ring is a heart-shaped cluster ring, centered on a warm golden-yellow heart brilliant-cut gemstone. Its romantic heart silhouette is framed by an elaborate multi-tier cluster. Smaller pavé-set stones form an inner border, while larger white round stones create a fuller, floral rosette-like outline. The combination of yellow and white metal gives the piece a distinctive two-tone appearance, while its high-profile, dimensional setting makes the heart the clear focal point of the ring. The design is centered on “a 3.57 carat heart-shaped diamond.”
“The two rare gemstones were intentionally chosen to echo Carlos’ two Olympic gold medals, making the pair especially meaningful to their story. For bespoke jewelry, it’s not always about following tradition, but about creating something that mirrors the spirit of the wearer. Choosing an electric Paraíba and a sunlit heart diamond reflects a vibrant, unapologetic love that writes its own rules—bold, personal, and uniquely their own,” JMA Jewelry told Metro.Style. “Both rings were bespoke pieces, created to reflect something beyond the traditional diamond engagement ring. Carlos wanted to move away from the standard diamond solitaire and choose stones that felt as rare and distinctive as their journey.”

With two rings for the woman who stood by him through two gold medal victories back then at the Paris Olympics to his recent double gold triumph at the Asian Games and beyond, Carlos made the grand gesture his own way of saying what he had long felt: “Siya ang gold medal ng puso ko.”
