MANILA, Philippines – Davao City Mayor Sebastian “Baste” Duterte is taking the witness stand Tuesday, Day 31 of Vice President Sara Duterte’s impeachment trial.

His testimony is expected to focus on Davao City government transactions with GenCorp Industries Inc., a company that Sara Duterte declared as a business interest in her 2024 and 2025 statements of assets, liabilities and net worth (SALNs).

The mayor’s appearance was moved from Monday to give him more time to gather, organize, authenticate and reproduce documents covered by a subpoena.

Also, in today’s trial, Escudero may also formally announce the court’s ruling on show-cause orders involving alleged violations of the sub judice rule by House prosecutor Terry Ridon and prosecution counsel Benjamin Tolosa.
