Sibol MLBB at the 20th Asian Games. PESOAfter battling through the group stage, Sibol Mobile Legends: Bang Bang lauded its opponents for keeping pace with the latest drafts and meta.
Despite Sibol dominating Group C after sweeping both group stage matches, 2-0, against Jordan and Kazakhstan at the 2026 Asian Games on Tuesday, the Filipino esports athletes saw the potential of our Asian neighbors.
“Napansin ko lang po sa mga teams na kasali dito and sa nakalaban namin kanina, sobrang galing nila mag-draft and ahead sila sa meta. Sadyang sa execution nagkakatalo,” jungler Karl “KarlTzy” Nepomuceno told Cignal, the official broadcaster of the 20th Asian Games in Aichi-Nagoya, in an interview.
Despite Jordan’s and Kazakhstan’s loss, EXP-laner Sanford Vinuya said that the teams they faced showed a good understanding of the game, particularly their approach to the draft and the current meta.
“Tulad nung kanina nag labas sila ng mga Lunox, and yung mga ibang heroes like Gord, so alam ko talagang handa talaga sila para sa match na ito,” he added.
The Philippines will look to carry its momentum from its two straight sweeps into the quarterfinals, where they will be facing rival country Indonesia, on Wednesday, Sept. 30 at the Aichi-Sky Expo Hall.
