The Little Details That Made Dove Cameron and Damiano David’s Wedding Unmistakably Theirs

Actress and singer Dove Cameron, 30, known for her breakthrough roles in Disney Channel’s original movie, Descendants, and Damiano David, 27, lead vocalist of the popular Italian rock band Måneskin, tied the knot in an intimate civil wedding at the town hall of Palazzo Dei Priori, Montalcino, Tuscany, Italy, on September 24.

Other grander chapters of the newlywed couple’s wedding weekend were revealed a day later. Their main wedding ceremony took place at the Rosewood Castiglion del Bosco, a historic five-star estate tucked along the rolling hills of Tuscany’s Val d’Orcia Natural Park and Brunello di Montalcino winery.

The couple’s high-fashion styles for their three-day wedding celebration had been the talk of the town. For their civil wedding, the couple wore coordinated white suits. Cameron’s main wedding gown was inspired by her original birth name, Celeste, a custom Valentino flowy white silk chiffon gown that flattered her silhouette; a celestial-themed tulle veil topped off the look. The interior of the corset featured the phrase “the best part of being alive,” which are the same words engraved on Damiano’s ring.  

The Tuscan festivities were also filled with details that felt unmistakably theirs. Shrouded by the ancient vineyards and placid, sun-drenched view of the Tuscan countryside, the hotel reflected a romantic backdrop with its historic stone walls, offering what seems like not only a lavish destination, but also an intimate montage of an Italian love story.

Where they exchanged vows at Castiglion del Bosco is this idyllic outdoor space, with a historic stone structure draped to fit the romantic tone of the moment. Chairs were also draped in ethereal fabric, achieving an overall dreamy vibe. 

Following the romantic montage, subverting typical wedding traditions, the whimsical wedding cake was also the star of the show, featuring a creamy, high-layered covered cake with intricate embellishments of flowers and picked slices of fresh figs, pomegranates, mixed berries, and bright red gerbera daisies. 

Another is the long outdoor table for both their post-civil wedding dinner and the main wedding reception. For the first one, the palette was more on the muted whites and beige scheme, while the next one featured a bolder red theme. Tall candelabras, red tapered candles, and posh cutlery and silverware elevated the sophisticated aesthetic look as the night fell, curating warm lighting for the event.

The personalized table napkins also revealed a deeper symbolism linked to the couple, with the embroidered “CD”, while D is for Damiano, C is for Chloe, derived from Cameron’s original birth name, Chloe Celeste Hosterman, in honor of her late father, Philip Hosterman.

All of these details exemplified a personal touch and shaped the couple’s love story.

According to People, the couple met backstage at the 2022 MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) for winning best new artist awards. The couple was reported to have begun their romantic escapades in 2023, as Cameron was observed attending one of Måneskin’s concerts at New York City’s Madison Square Garden.

From February to June 2024, the couple gradually offered a glimpse into their relationship that had quietly grown between them, sharing tender sentiments and reflections about each other that would eventually lead them down the aisle.

In an interview with Cosmopolitan then, Cameron revealed the first time their paths crossed with her now-husband David and how they met.

“The first time was at the 2022 VMAs and his band, and I were both up for the same award. You just run into different artists backstage, and when I met them, I don’t think I even spoke to Damiano,” Cameron said.

Months later, Måneskin’s team reported having reached out to Cameron about the album release, which slowly built their relationship; a romantic date led to another, and the rest is history.

“Okay, these are my intentions. It was super honorable. He’s like a 1950s gentleman, angel, teddy bear. He’s the best person I’ve met in my life,” Cameron added.

For Cameron and David, what began as a passing encounter backstage slowly unfolded to become something far greater—as the two found themselves building a life together.
