Sigabo: Gloria, nadiskubre ang pandadaya sa laro ni Diday | Episode 74

While her fake husband Gabo (Coco Martin) is at the barber shop, Gloria (Julia Montes) tags along with their neighbor, Aling Diday (Diana Opilac), to make some extra money, which she plans to use to buy Gabo some smart-casual clothes for his job application.

They start by offering nail and hair services to different customers, which both end up in disaster since Gloria has no experience in either. As they continue walking, they pass by a group of men playing “cara y cruz,” prompting Aling Diday to invite Gloria to join the game. Although Gloria has no idea how to play, she ends up enjoying it, especially since they keep winning.

When a group of barangay tanods suddenly arrives in the area to apprehend those taking part in illegal gambling, the players, including Aling Diday and Gloria, quickly run for their lives. Once they are safe, Gloria asks Aling Diday how it is possible that, no matter how she tosses the coins, they always seem to land on the winning side. Aling Diday explains that it is called “mahika,” or magic, and shows Gloria that both sides of one of the coins they used in the game are actually “cara.”

Appalled, Gloria accuses Aling Diday of tricking the other players. Aling Diday, however, defensively insists that she merely outsmarted them. She further argues that in Ginintuang Lupa, one must be clever in order to survive.

Aling Diday then brings Gloria to a cockfight, where they unfortunately lose after the fighting cock they bet on is defeated. Perhaps to prevent them from suffering any further losses, Aling Diday shouts, “Parak!” or “Police!” prompting everyone in the area to swiftly flee.
