Learn to create Elphaba’s green look at this theater makeup workshop

MANILA — Stagedoor by GMG Productions, in partnership with Myrene Santos, will hold a hands-on theatrical makeup workshop on October 25 at Opera Haus in Makati.
The workshop will focus on Elphaba’s signature green look, giving participants an opportunity to learn how theatrical makeup can help create and define a character for the stage.
Santos, a professional wig maker, wig dresser, and hair and makeup artist specializing in theatrical styling and character transformation, will lead the workshop. Her credits include international productions of “Hamilton,” “The Lion King,” “Wicked,” “The Phantom of the Opera,” “Les Misérables” and “The Sound of Music.”
Participants will learn practical techniques for character makeup, including creating defining features and adapting makeup for stage performance.
The workshop will offer two ticket options. The hands-on ticket costs P2,500, with early bird tickets available for P2,000, and allows participants to recreate the green witch look on themselves under Santos’ guidance.
Hands-on participants are encouraged to bring their own makeup products, brushes, tools, preferred makeup remover and drinking water. A recommended materials list will be provided upon registration.
The observer ticket, priced at P500, allows participants to watch the demonstration, follow the techniques and join the question-and-answer session.
An optional Green Witch Makeup Kit is also available for P850. The kit includes water-based green face paint, makeup fixing spray, a basic eyeshadow palette, a makeup sponge and a small brush set.
Tickets go on sale October 5.
