Kiana V explores ups, downs of modern love in new album ‘I Know Better’
In the midst of the complexities of love, some people find themselves making different decisions despite knowing what is best for them.
Los Angeles-based Filipina artist Kiana V has officially released her new album “I Know Better,” which features nine tracks blending R&B, soul, and pop.
“I Know Better” delves deep into the ups and downs of modern love, including giving too much too soon, the unexpected return of someone from your past, the distinction between words and actions, and finally seeing a situation for what it is.
Understanding that growth is not always linear, Kiana said. “I think we all wish that once we know better, we automatically do better. But sometimes you see the mess you’re creating and you still lean into it. That’s the human part of it.”
Kiana V releases ‘I Know Better.’ Handout Born and raised in the Philippines, Kiana has spent the last few years dividing her time between Los Angeles and Manila, honing a sound based on emotional storytelling, soulful melodies, and a fondness for nostalgia.“I Know Better” is her first fully independent album, following previous releases with Tarsier Records and 88rising’s Paradise Rising. It’s a record created entirely on her own terms, from the songwriting to the visuals.
Following the album’s release, she will return to the Philippines to perform at the PLUS63 Festival on November 28 with Khalid, DENY, SHNTI, and others.
