Aiko Melendez, Onemig Bondoc are now engaged

MANILA — Showbiz couple Aiko Melendez and Onemig Bondoc are now engaged.

The good news was shared by Melendez and Bondoc through their respective social media accounts.

On Instagram, Melendez said that it took their love story almost three decades to “finally find its way back home.”

“Today, I am engaged to the man who has somehow been part of my story for almost three decades @uno_111 ,” Melendez  wrote.

She added: “Some love stories begin with once upon a time. Ours began 29 years ago, took a very long detour, and somehow found its way back. And now, after all these years, I get to marry the one I waited for.  The timing may not have been ours. But perhaps it was always God’s. 🙏❤️29 years later… I said YES. 💍 And this time, we choose each other not because we need to, but simply because we want to spend the rest of our lives together.”

For his part, Bondoc shared video of his proposal  to Melendez on his YouTube channel. He popped the question during their visit to the grave of Melendez’s father, Jimi Melendez.

In the video, Bondoc told the actress that he already asked permission to the latter’s mother and children.

It was early this year when the two finally confirmed their romantic relationship.
