PBA: Returning Oftana catches fire as TNT drubs Terrafirma

MANILA — TNT dealt Terrafirma a 24-point beating, 116-92, as the squad welcomed back Calvin Oftana and Jayson Castro in the resumption of the PBA Season 50 Governors’ Cup, Wednesday at the Ninoy Aquino Stadium.

Oftana, who “felt like a rookie” in his return, caught fire with a 31-point explosion to anchor the Tropang 5G’s win alongside veteran point guard Castro.

American forward Nick Hornsby, who stepped in as import, tallied 26 points, while Jordan Heading added 14 markers.

The win knotted TNT’s record with Converge at 5-4 in Group A, while sending the Dyip to their sixth loss in nine matches.

It was a welcome development for the Chot Reyes-coached squad as they brace for a marquee matchup with San Miguel on October 10.
