MANILA (3rd UPDATE) — The Quezon City Regional Trial Court handling the grave threats case against Vice President Sara Duterte on Friday reset her arraignment anew, her legal counsel Paul Lawrence Lim told reporters, citing their pending motions.

Duterte earlier arrived at QC RTC Branch 98 for her scheduled arraignment on 3 counts of grave threats.

According to Lim, they still have a pending motion before the RTC to reconsider its earlier denial of their motion for inhibition against the presiding judge handling the case. Lim also said they have a pending petition for certiorari before the Supreme Court.

“Dahil don minabuti ng judge na wag muna ituloy ang arraignment today,” he said.

Lim said the court already set a new date for the arraignment but refused to disclose it, citing the sub judice rule.

Duterte faces grave threats complaint before the QC RTC Branch 98 over statements she made in 2024 against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, and former House Speaker Martin Romualdez.
