WATCH: Paulo Avelino dedicates Outstanding Asian Star award to people behind the scenes

Kapamilya actor Paulo Avelino accepted his Outstanding Asian Star award at the Seoul International Drama Awards 2026 for his role in the hit series The Alibi earlier this week. In his acceptance speech, he expressed his gratitude to everyone that made his win possible–– from the crew to his loyal fans. 

Paulo flew to South Korea to personally accept the award this week. The Kapamilya star was wearing a Barong as he proudly represented the country at the prestigious award-giving body. 

“To everyone watching live… I’m currently learning Korean for another role and I apologize if I don’t look like myself in the picture–– it’s my role,” he said.

“First of all, I want to thank my home network, ABS-CBN, for the opportunity. I want to thank Dreamscape for creating the story of the show and the character. For Prime Video, for bridging Filipino stories all over the world,” he added.

He also made a special mention to the fans that voted for him to win the award. He assured them how grateful he is for all the effort that they put in towards all his projects. 

“Most especially to the fans who voted for me–– thank you so much, you’ve been there, you’ve stuck with me, you’ve watched my shows, you’ve watched my movies, paid for the cinemas so I appreciate you guys,” he said. 

He shared the importance of the crew behind the scenes that helped make The Alibi a success. 

“One thing that I would add is whenever I get a trophy or an award, I don’t really think about my performance or what I’ve won or what I’ve done. Awards and trophies always remind me of the people who worked behind the scenes–– the crew, production people, director, cinematographer, editors, colorist, and marketing,” he asserted.

“So, they’re the ones who I’ll remember whenever I see this award along with the fans that voted for me. Thank you,” he ended.
