Rere Madrid looks back on pregnancy journey before welcoming son Atlas: ‘Thank you for making me stronger’
Actress Rere Madrid took to social media to look back on her pregnancy journey before welcoming her and husband Kai Sotto’s son, Atlas.
On Instagram, Rere shared a carousel of photos documenting her journey to motherhood, opening up about the challenges she faced and the fears she had to overcome along the way.
“My pregnancy journey wasn’t easy. There were times when my fears got the best of me, especially when I thought about what others might say or think,” Rere first wrote.
The new mom admitted that she was afraid of how this new chapter in her life would affect her personal and professional goals, especially while being away from her husband.
“I was afraid that the people who mattered most to me wouldn’t accept what had happened, that I would lose my job, and that my dreams for myself would have to come to an end. One of the hardest parts was being in a long-distance relationship with my husband during that time,” she added.
Despite these challenges, Rere gradually learned to embrace the changes in her life, finding comfort in her faith.
“But little by little, everything began to change because I knew the Lord was guiding me throughout this journey. It wasn’t easy, especially having to continue working while carrying a baby and eventually giving up the opportunities that were waiting for me. But I learned that it was okay to let some things go,” she said.
“Because now I understand that sometimes, what we receive in return is far more beautiful than what we had to give up.”
Looking back on the past nine months, Rere expressed how her son became a source of strength throughout her pregnancy.
“For nine months, it was you and me, baby Atlas. 🤍 Thank you for making me stronger in ways I never imagined. This is a journey I will always look back on with so much love, and one I will never, ever regret,” she said.
“My pregnancy era will forever hold a special place in my heart. 🤍”
Last September, Rere first shared a glimpse of a special moment between Kai and their baby in an Instagram Story, where she announced that she had given birth to Atlas.
“A blessing I will love, nurture, and protect with everything I have,” Rere wrote.
Rere’s older brother, Kapuso actor Ruru Madrid, also shared his first meeting with his nephew alongside his girlfriend, Always Yours Never Mine actress Bianca Umali.
“TITO RURU NA AKO! 🥹🤍 Congratulations, Bunso at Bayaw, sa isang napakagandang biyayang ipinagkaloob sa inyo. 🤍,” Ruru wrote. “Nandito lang kami ni Tita Bianca para sa’yo, Baby Atlas. We’ll be here to watch you grow, support you, and love you every step of the way.”
Ruru also expressed how proud he was of his younger sister as she embraced motherhood, saying: “Re @reremadrid , sobrang proud ako sa’yo. Mommy ka na! 🥹 Alam kong hindi naging madali ang lahat, pero look at you now. You did it, Bunso. ❤️.”
