Joshua Garcia believes being in a relationship won’t hurt his showbiz career

MANILA — Actor Joshua Garcia believes being in a relationship does not have to come at the expense of a showbiz career, saying professionalism and commitment to one’s craft are key to balancing work and romance.

“For as long as alam mo ‘yung ginagawa mo and you are professional pa rin sa craft mo, passion mo pa rin siya,” Garcia said in the latest vlog of Benedict Cua.

“I mean, I’m in a relationship right now, non-showbiz.  Ginagawa ko lang ay 100% sa work ko. And ‘yun na rin ‘yung ginagawa ko kasi bago pa maging kami. So parang kahit ano pang gawin ko diyan sa work ko, hindi naman talaga siya magagalit,” added Garcia, who is in a relationship with athlete and entrepreneur Emilienne Vigier.

In the vlog, Garcia also said he does not regret being in a love team.

“Ang saya ng love team. You get to experience something na napapanood mo lang. Kasi my first sa sinehan KathNiel (Kathryn Bernardo and Daniel Padilla) ‘yun ang first ko na magsine talaga, na napapanood. Ang saya rin ng love team ang dami mong matutunan,” he said.

“Pero mas masaya if you are like John Lloyd (Cruz) na you get to be paired with anyone,” he added.

Even though Garcia enjoyed being in a love team, it does not make him feel that he would not succeed without being in one.

“Hindi, not at all,” said Garcia, who starred alongside actress Julia Barretto in the JoshLia love team

“It’s part of your job, it’s part of your journey. Hindi lahat nabibigyan ng ganyang (pagkakataon), like me, with Julia,” he said. “I love Julia, may special place  siya sa aking puso.”

Currently, Garcia and Barretto are starrin in Star Cinema’s “Always Yours, Never Mine,” which is currently showing in cinemas.
