Glaiza de Castro recalls wishing for a baby with husband David Rainey during Japan trip last year

Glaiza de Castro celebrated her fifth wedding anniversary with husband David Rainey by reflecting on their journey together and the special wish they made last year that is now coming true.

In a Facebook post, the actress recalled how she and David wished for a baby during an overseas trip last year.

“5 years ago today, I married this amazing man… and last year on our trip to Japan, we wished for a baby. (This was David Rainey’s handwriting, at dalawa talaga hiniling niya),” she posted as she shared the written note of her husband during their trip. “This year we are having one!”

Glaiza also expressed her gratitude for having David by her side as they navigate life’s milestones and challenges together.

“We won in life. 🏆 Although we’re still figuring things out along the way, I’m grateful that I get to do life with you. Through every season, every challenge and every little win, there’s no one else I’d rather have by my side,” she said. 

She concluded her anniversary tribute with a heartfelt message for her husband as they prepare to welcome their first child.

“Here’s to growing together, dreaming bigger, building our little family, and choosing each other over and over again. Happy anniversary mahal ko David Rainey,” she said.

Fans online were quick to react to Glaiza’s post.

“Happy anniversary both and congrats sa paparating na baby niyo 🎊🥰,” one fan commented.

“Wishing you both a lifetime of love, happiness, and beautiful memories as you begin this wonderful new chapter as parents,” another fan wrote.

It was in September when Glaiza announced that she was expecting her first child with David.

In an interview on the Think Talk Tea podcast of Kring Kim in August 2025, Glaiza shared that she and David were already planning to have a baby.

The actress shared that she was ready to prioritize building a family after dedicating many years of her life to her acting career.

“Kasi parang ang tagal ko ng umaarte, ang tagal ko ng binigay ‘yung sarili ko dun sa industriya na thankful naman ako talaga. Gusto kong i-emphasize ‘yun. Napapagod ako yes, wala akong hatred towards it. Kumbaga parang ano lang ibang priority kasi parang sa tagal ko na rin na ginagawa ‘to, ‘yun nga eh makikita mo na may ibang reality ka pa pala,” she stated.
