SB19’s ‘VISA’ and ‘LAWLESS’ submitted for 2027 Grammy Awards consideration
SB19’s songs “VISA” and “LAWLESS” have been submitted for consideration at the 2027 Grammy Awards.
On October 13, the P-pop group shared on its social media pages that “VISA” has been submitted as an entry for the Best Asian Pop Music Performance category, while “LAWLESS” vies for a nod for Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.
“From the Philippines to the world, thank you for believing in SB19. Let’s continue to champion Filipino music and bring it to the global stage!” their announcement read.
The official announcement followed earlier reports about the group’s Grammy submissions.
Last October 2, Billboard reported that Sony Music Philippines had confirmed SB19’s submission of “VISA” in its article, Without BTS, Who Could Get An Asian Pop Grammy Nomination?
The article looked onto potential contenders for the much-discussed new category after K-pop group BTS decided not to submit an entry.
“The breakout pop act became the first Filipino group to play Lollapalooza this summer, months after ‘Visa’ debuted in the top 10 of Billboard‘s World Digital Song Sales chart. Written and co-produced by leader Pablo, the percussive track was inspired by visa denials the group faced on its world tour and takes on the obstacles Filipinos confront working and performing abroad (it also name-checks Olivia Rodrigo and Bruno Mars, both of whom have Filipino heritage),” the article read.
“Sony Music Philippines confirms the submission,” it added.

A week later, on October 10, Forbes shared an ongoing list of artists who submitted for the 2027 Grammys. According to the list, SB19 has submitted their single “LAWLESS” for consideration.
While SB19 has submitted two entries for consideration, these are not yet official Grammy nominations.

The official nominees for the 2027 Grammys will be announced on November 16.
The 2027 Grammy Awards will take place on February 7 at Crypto.com Arena in Los Angeles.
Earlier this year, SB19 shared during the media conference for their Wakas at Simula album that they are still dreaming of winning a Grammy Award.
“Well, we’re just very excited to share with you what we’re capable of. For Grammys, of course, we’ve always been dreaming about it,” Josh said. “Siyempre, [we’re] gradually waiting for the opportunity. Pero lagi pa rin kaming humble dapat na hindi namin masyado ine-expect na darating lang siya. Kailangan naming mag-work hard,” he continued.
Meanwhile, this is not the first time SB19 has joined the Grammy submission process.
In 2023, their hit song “Gento” became an approved entry to the Grammys for the Best Pop Duo/Group Performance category.
