Gabbi Garcia on nine-year relationship with Khalil Ramos: ‘The best years of my life’
Gabbi Garcia opened up about her nine-year relationship with Khalil Ramos and shared how they handle questions about their plans to settle down.
In a recent interview with Boy Abunda, Gabbi clarified that she and Khalil do not mind being asked about marriage, emphasizing that they have always been open about their future together.
“Some people assume kasi na we get irritated or annoyed whenever people ask us [about marriage plans], hindi naman namin minamasama. For us, it’s fine talking about it because we are very open about it,” she said.
Gabbi explained that while marriage is part of their future plans, they are currently focused on their respective careers and are waiting for the right time to take the next step in their relationship.
“As of now talaga we are just taking our time. I mean Khalil is so busy, I am also busy. We have so many things to do pa but definitely we have an understanding na dun naman papunta ‘yun. It’s just that we are looking lang for the right timing,” she said.
In the same interview, Gabbi also discussed how they support each other’s professional endeavors.
“We respect each other’s craft like for example sa paga-arte niya, sobrang nire-respeto ko siya. And likewise sa kanya sa pagho-host ko, super nire-respect din niya, so I think it really works well,” she said.
Asked to describe her nearly decade-long relationship with Khalil, Gabbi remarked, “The best years of my life.”
Gabbi and Khalil celebrated their 9th anniversary last February.
They commemorated the occasion by sharing a series of photos on Instagram that captured memorable moments throughout their relationship.
“Still crazy after all these years 🖤 Our 9th year in photos,” they captioned their joint post.
Meanwhile, in a previous exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Khalil expressed his desire to eventually marry Gabbi, revealing that they had already discussed their future together but have yet to decide on a wedding date.
“I think it’s coming. I’m heading into my thirties, Gabbi is heading into her late twenties already. We’ve been together for eight years. We get this question on a yearly basis when we celebrate our anniversary,” he said at the time of the interview.
Khalil also emphasized the importance of consistently making an effort to nurture their relationship, especially as they balance their demanding careers.
“It’s an everyday decision to make time, to express your love, and to receive love. We’re at that stage na you know, we’re not getting any younger. We’re eventually getting to the next chapter of our lives,” he stated.
