Mayor Isko reiterates plan to continue Duterte’s BBB
CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro – Presidential aspirant Manila Mayor Isko Moreno reiterated his previous statement that he will continue the Build! Build! Build!program of President Rodrigo Duterte if he gets elected in 2022 as he pledged to put the bulk of the government’s budget on housing, health and economic infrastructures.
“Itutuloy natin ang BBB program ng Pangulo kasi bayad na iyong buwis na gagamitin sa mga project. Hindi tayo tulad ng iba na ititigil ang naumpisahan ng previous administration pero sa programa ko, tao ang uunahin ko,” Mayor Moreno said in his speech made before his supporters and community leaders in Calapan City last Monday.
“We will also build more job opportunities for our people which is one of our thrusts in consultative type of governance that we will implement,” Mayor Moreno stressed during his Mindoro sortie.
The mayor arrived at an inactive city airport on board a private chopper then proceeded to the public market where he was greeted warmly by well-wishers.
In a meeting later with Aksyon Demokratiko members at Mahalta Resort and Convention Center, Mayor Moreno said that cutting half the taxes on imported petroleum products and electricity will ease the burden of the people and this could be done, he said, by the government.
“Sabi nila malulugi ang gobyerno ng halos P130 bilyon, so, okey, malulugi ang gobyerno at ilang pulitiko pero makikinabang ang mga tao,” Moreno said.
Moreno’s vice-presidential running mate Dr. Willie Ong said that the COVID-19 pandemic can be resolved by attacking it one step ahead of the usual procedure.
“Sa Manila, bumili na sila ng dalawang bagong gamot kontra COVID pero ang national government bakit hanggang ngayon hindi pa rin bumibili? Pulos pulitika ang inuuna,” Dr. Ong said.
Local Aksyon Demokratiko supporters led by mayoralty aspirant Malou F. Morillo and her running-mate Bimboy Ignacio welcomed Moreno’s party.
