Puregold’s Vincent Co, influencers join Hakot Relay
Puregold president Vincent Co and influencers join Hakot Relay. Josh MercadoPuregold has successfully established a “hakot” legacy by transforming various cities into adrenaline-fueled showcases of speed, grit, and panalo.
From Luzon to Mindanao, runners, fitness influencers, and Puregold shoppers turned out to compete, enjoy the camaraderie, and participate in the race’s signature “hakot” moments.
Puregold president Vincent Co was spotted in a white shirt at the recent Hakot Relay, participating in the marathon while enjoying the community his company has built. Despite public perception that he is aloof from people, Co demonstrated humility during the event.
Aside from the business executive, other influencers were seen participating in the event’s signature segment, in which runners formed teams and raced through the course while collecting grocery items along the way.
In the relay, teammates had to strategize and collaborate as they raced to collect groceries before crossing the finish line. In the 8K Individual Challenge, runners covered the longer distance entirely on their own.
“We wanted to give runners a new and exciting way to challenge themselves, and the ‘hakot’ mechanic added a playful and unique Puregold twist to the race. Being a part of the running community means a lot to us, and it’s an honor for Puregold to bring people together for a shared panalo experience,” said Ivy Hayagan-Piedad, Puregold senior marketing manager.
Participants began with a pre-race warm-up before heading to the starting line to complete their respective courses within the time limits.
After crossing the finish line, runners collected their race-day rewards and visited the participating brands’ sampling booths. The event concluded with sponsor-led stage activities and an awards ceremony.
“We’re always looking for ways to improve the Hakot Relay and give Filipinos something new to look forward to,” Piedad explained. “This year, we introduced our first-ever 8K challenge, expanding the experience to an even larger scale.”
With thousands of runners participating as teams or solo competitors, the latest running event expanded the Hakot experience while maintaining its coveted reward: you race to the finish line — and go home with groceries as well.
