As Ben&Ben celebrated its ninth anniversary with the release of an anthology album, Spotify joined the festivities by highlighting the band’s career milestones in its “The Come Up” series.

Spotify’s “The Come Up” series spotlights the defining musical achievements, streaming milestones, and breakthroughs that have shaped the careers of rising and established artists.

The visual timeline begins on March 15, 2017, when Ben&Ben, then a duo with just 187,629 monthly listeners, joined Spotify Asia’s Early Noise program as one of six representatives from the Philippines.

It goes on to highlight major achievements, including the band’s hit “Kathang Isip” reaching 10 million streams on the platform in 2018 and Ben&Ben being named Spotify Philippines’ Most Streamed Artist in 2020.

The timeline culminates on October 2, 2026, when the band celebrated its ninth anniversary with its sold-out “Saranggola” concert at the Araneta Coliseum.

“Ben&Ben’s journey shows how a song can keep growing beyond the moment it was released. For Filipino listeners, music often becomes a way to remember a person, mark a milestone, or express something they can’t quite say themselves. Those connections give a song a reason to stay and to be shared with someone who hasn’t heard it yet,” said Spotify Philippines lead editor Chesca Tan.

“It reflects a uniquely powerful aspect of music fandom: how songs take on different meanings across stages of life while remaining part of a shared cultural experience. That’s why Spotify continues to create spaces for both discovery and deeper fan connection, helping listeners stay connected to the music and artists they love,” Tan added.

In September, Ben&Ben released its anthology album “Nine” in celebration of its ninth anniversary, featuring mostly reimagined versions of the band’s hit songs.

“‘NINE’ is both a love letter to our listeners and a celebration of our friendship. It’s such an amazing feeling to see our songs growing with our listeners and continuing to live with them,” Ben&Ben said of the record in a statement provided by Spotify.

Ben&Ben consists of Paolo Benjamin Guico and Miguel Benjamin Guico in lead vocals and guitars, Poch Barretto (lead guitar), Agnes Reoma (bass guitar), Andrew De Pano (percussion), Toni Muñoz (percussion), Keifer Cabugao (violin) and Patricia Lasaten (keyboards).

Drummer Jam Villanueva recently departed Ben&Ben, with the “Saranggola” concert marking her final performance with the band.

Apart from Ben&Ben, “The Come Up” series has also featured P-pop kings SB19.
