Boy Abunda advises Kris Aquino to file legal case against Machong Chismisan podcast
King of Talk Boy Abunda expressed his disappointment following the now-deleted episode of Machong Chimisan podcast where they mocked Josh Aquino, son of his good friend Kris Aquino. In his show earlier this week, he maintained how angry he was after watching the clip of the podcast which has now gone viral on social media.
In the now-deleted episode that was published last October 5, Tito P compared brothers Bimby Aquino and Josh while the rest of the hosts were seemingly laughing at the remark. Netizens have called out the hosts and expressed their disappointment following the comments made against Josh.
“This is very difficult for me mga kaibigan dahil where do I even start? Nakakagalit at nang dami dami kong katanungan. I was watching the clip–– I will admit I didn’t watch the whole show but I will watch it after the show. Habang pinapanood ko yung clip na ito, hindi ko alam how this bunch of podcasters na mukhang matatalino, edukado ay magagawa ang ganitong ka cruel na komentaryo,” Boy expressed.
The Kapuso host shared how hurt he was for Josh who was being compared to his younger brother. He recalled how important Josh’s role was when they were living in the US where Kris was seeking treatment for her autoimmune diseases.
“You are talking about a young man with a disability. You’re talking about a special boy,” he stressed.
“Noong pumunta ako sa Amerika at dinalaw ko si Kris doon, naalala ko lamang ngayon, si Bimb was in charge of coordinating with the nurses. He was on top of a lot of things happening there. Alam niyo ba si Josh, kung ano ang kanyang assignment? Sa bawat simula ng araw, he would gather everybody in the house and he would lead the prayer. Hindi po walang silbi si Josh. Mali ang inyong ginawa. Labag sa batas ng Diyos at batas ng tao ang inyong ginawa. Napakasakit,” he added.
Boy then shared that he hoped Kris would file a legal case against the hosts as he cited Republic Act 9442 or the Magna Carta for Disabled Persons.
“I don’t even know where to go. Ako, if Kris would ask me, we haven’t had the chance to speak about this, I would tell her to go to court, idemanda mo dahil ito ay labag sa batas,” he expressed.
He hoped that the conversation around this won’t die down soon as people need to be enlightened on how wrong it was to make fun of someone’s disability. Boy then assured Josh that he will always be there to support him.
“Machong Chismisan? Congratulations, you got the attention of everybody at hindi dito nagtatapos. Dapat ito ay pagaralan, dapat tayo ay mag react, dapat ay pag usapan para mas ma enlighten ang maraming tao,” he said.
“I am sorry for what happened to Josh, I love you Josh if you’re watching. I saw him grow up. He’s a fine young man, he’s a good boy,” he ended.
Meanwhile, Machong Chismisan has had its contract with The Pod Network terminated following the public backlash. The hosts has broken their silence as well and released their own statements.
