Machong Chismisan hosts apologize to Kris and Josh Aquino: ‘Kami po ay lubos na nagsisisi’
The hosts of Machong Chismisan podcast have broken their silence once more as they publicly apologized to Josh Aquino, Kris Aquino, and the entire Aquino family over the insensitive joke that mocked Josh. In a joint statement through their Facebook account, the hosts expressed their full accountability on what happened in their October 5 episode which has now been deleted.
In the now-deleted episode, Tito P compared brothers Bimby Aquino and Josh while the rest of the hosts were seemingly laughing at the remark. Netizens have called out the hosts and expressed their disappointment following the comments made against Josh.
“To Ms. Kris Aquino, Josh, and the entire Aquino family whom we have hurt and aggrieved, we offer our sincerest apologies. We take full accountability for our actions and behavior during the episode. We acknowledge that our conduct was inexcusable, deeply insensitive, and hurtful. We recognize the impact of our actions, and we do not wish to make excuses for the harm we have caused,” the statement went.
The hosts apologized to everyone who also called them out as they recognize that the actions that they committed not only hurt the Aquino family but also “deeply disrespectful to the dignity and experiences of many others.”
While they may have taken down all the content related to the viral episode, the Machong Chismisan hosts understood that it doesn’t remove the harm that it caused. They assured the netizens that they are willing to work with organizations to learn more about children with special needs and persons with disabilities.
“Beyond expressing our deep remorse, we recognize that accountability must be accompanied by meaningful action, a willingness to listen, and a genuine commitment to learning and doing better. We are grateful for the opportunity to reflect on our actions and, where possible, make amends through concrete and responsible steps,” they expressed.
The hosts ended their public statement with apologizing to Josh and Kris once again as they regret the insensitive remarks they’ve made.
“Nauunawaan po naming hindi sapat ang paghingi ng paumanhin upang mabura ang sakit na aming naidulot, ngunit umaasa po kaming maipakita sa pamamagitan ng aming mga susunod na hakbang ang aming tunay na pagsisisi at kahandaang matuto at magbago,” they ended.
