13-year-old child actor stabbed 8 times by 15-year-old neighbor in QC

MANILA — A 13-year-old child actor sustained multiple stab wounds after he was allegedly attacked by his 15-year-old neighbor in Barangay Payatas, Quezon City, on October 12, according to police. 

Police Lieutenant Colonel Rowena Amata, station commander of Payatas Police Station, said the victim was playing outside his residence with another minor when the 15-year-old boy approached and repeatedly stabbed him.

“Nagkaroon po tayo ng stabbing incident o pananaksak. Sa labas ng bahay nangyari ito. Ang ginagawa ng biktima, kasalukuyan po silang naglalaro, may kasama din po siyang isa pang menor de edad na kaibigan niya. Naglalaro sila doon malapit sa bahay nila nang itong batang nakasaksak po bigla na lang lumapit at inundayan siya ng saksak,” Amata said. 

The victim sustained eight stab wounds to various parts of his body and was immediately brought to a hospital for medical treatment.

Police subsequently arrested the suspect in a follow-up operation within the area. 

Initial investigation indicated that the incident stemmed from a dispute over an online game account.

According to Amata, the 15-year-old boy allegedly sold an account for an online game to the victim but was not paid. 

The victim was initially admitted to the hospital’s intensive care unit (ICU). He is now awake and in stable condition, police said. 

Meanwhile, a relative of the victim clarified that a person identified as Matthew Johann, who introduced himself as the boy’s older brother in a social media post, is not a member of their family.

The family appealed to the public to respect their privacy and refrain from circulating information about the incident without their consent.

“Nais ko po sana humingi ng tulong na yung nagpapakalat po kasi ay hindi po namin kaano-ano. Nakakagulo lang din po siya sa amin… Wala po siyang pahintulot sa amin na nagpapakalat siya ng ganyang impormasyon,” the relative said. 

The 15-year-old boy has been turned over to Bahay Pag-asa, a facility for children in conflict with the law, and has been charged with frustrated murder.
