Bianca Gonzalez and JC Intal celebrate daughter Lucia’s growth as she joins swim meet

Celebrity couple Bianca Gonzalez and JC Intal expressed pride in their daughter Lucia after she joined a swimming competition, marking a milestone in her journey toward overcoming her fears and stepping out of her comfort zone.

On social media, Bianca recalled how Lucia, then in Grade 1, became emotional when she was asked to participate in her school’s lower elementary swimming meet.

“When she was grade 1, she shed tears as she told us she didn’t want to join their lower elementary swim meet in school,” the Pinoy Big Brother host first wrote.

Now in Grade 5, Lucia has come a long way, as she accepted her coach’s invitation to compete in an interschool swimming meet.

“Now in the fifth grade, she accepted her coach’s invite to join an interschool swim meet and did all four events: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, butterfly, plus a relay (!!!) 🥹 and she did sooo well 😭❤️💪🏼🦋✨️,” Bianca added.

As a proud mother, Bianca reflected on how children grow and gain confidence in their own time, expressing her happiness over her daughter’s progress.

“Hey really do bloom in their own time 🌸 my mama heart cannot deal 😭 we are so so so so proud of you, Lucia 🌟,” she stated.

Former basketball player JC Intal, on his end, shared the mix of emotions he experienced while watching his daughter compete.

“Nakakakaba, nakaka-excite, at nakaka-tuwa pala talaga kapag ikaw na yung nanonood sa anak mo,” JC said.

He also expressed how proud he was to see Lucia embrace new experiences, especially after she previously hesitated to join competitions.

“Sobrang proud kami sa’yo, Lucia! Lalo na’t dati, ayaw mong sumali sa kahit anong competition. Seeing you try something new and step out of your comfort zone makes us even prouder. You did so well, anak! ❤️🏊🏻‍♀️,” he added.

Lucia is the eldest daughter of Bianca and JC, who also have a younger daughter, Carmen Eliana.

In a previous social media post commemorating the International Day of the Girl, Bianca reflected on the responsibility and privilege of raising two daughters, emphasizing the importance of supporting girls in pursuing their dreams and aspirations.

“Today, it is very clear to me why God blessed us with two girls. Working with communities and in advocacies for most of my life has taught me that when you support girls, in their dreams, their goals, and their well-being, it is not just them that succeed, they lift with them their families, their communities, and the country. And what a blessing it is to be chosen to take on the responsibility of raising two girls,” she said.

The Kapamilya host also shared her and JC’s hopes of raising their daughters to use their abilities to make a difference in the lives of others.

“Along with my husband JC, we hope to help them grow to be their best selves, using all the skills and talents they have been given to be of service to others and to help make this world a better place,” she said.

She continued: “With everything happening in the world now, it is easy to feel hopeless, but because of them and for them, HOPE stays alive. Today is International Day of the Girl and I honor every woman and girl reading this.”
