Tothapi releases new song ‘Orasan’

MANILA — OPM band Tothapi has released its latest single “Orasan,” which is now available on all digital music platforms.

“‘Orasan’ is about noticing the beauty in someone and cherishing the simplest moments together. It speaks to a love so deep that it makes you want to be a better person today than you were yesterday, because you know that’s what they deserve,” the band wrote as a reply to ABS-CBN News via Instagram.

The Bicol-based group created and produced the newest track and was brought to life through the core efforts of Kob Dionela, Ben Joseph, Michael Jamlang, and Vince Dionela. Kob Dionela led the song’s composition, while Ben Joseph directed the arrangement with the rest of the band.

The band said “Orasan” is dedicated to the people who bring out the best in others, with the hope that the song will inspire listeners to cherish their loved ones.

“Our biggest hope is for listeners to feel closer to the people they love. We want ‘Orasan’ to be a song dedicated to those special people who make us better just by being around, amplifying the good in us and inspiring us to give them the love they deserve,” the group said.

According to Tothapi, “Orasan” is a teaser of what’s to come, adding that “more  masterpieces” are on the way.

The jazz-influenced pop band also shared their message to their fans about their new single.

“Love is all sweetness and butterflies, until you realize your partner is changing. But change is bound to happen. In a way, ‘Orasan’ is about accepting that truth and learning to love someone through every phase of who they become,” the band said.

“Orasan” is the follow-up to the song “Minsan,” released just last April.

In early 2024, Tothapi guested on “ASAP Natin’ To,” with Regine Velasquez saying she discovered the band on social media.

This after the band went viral with their song “Celeste,” which has passed the 27 million mark on Spotify with over 1.8 million monthly listeners.
