Veteran Filipino theater actress and director Enchang Kaimo passes away

MANILA — Veteran theater actress and director Enchang Kaimo has passed away, her husband, Mari Kaimo, announced on Monday, October 19, in a Facebook post.  She was 77.

Mari started his post by sharing a Bible verse: “Then Yahweh God said, ‘It is not good for the man to be alone; I will make him a helper suitable for him.’” 

He then shared the passing of his wife.

“On this month 45 years ago, God brought me the helper who would be suitable for me. Today, He took her back unto Himself.   She rests now in His embrace and is fully free of the chains that bind us all. I look forward to the day that we are reunited once again when our Christ returns!” he wrote.

Enchang’s wake will be held at the Lighthouse Christian Community in Muntinlupa City on October 21 and October 22, from 2 p.m. to 9 p.m..

Enchanmg was born Maria Lorenza Dominguez Agudo on December 1, 1948. 

Oone of the most respected figure in Philippine theater, she had worked with Repertory Philippines before she helped in establishing Trumpets.
