Robi Domingo shares the inspiration behind his son Emmanuel’s name
Robi Domingo opened up about his experience as a first-time father.
In an interview with Boy Abunda on Fast Talk, Robi shared how becoming a father has changed his perspective on life and given him a renewed sense of purpose.
“In so many ways, lahat ng mga problema ko dati now parang siyang so minuscule. Tsaka may bago akong purpose. I am so excited to go to work, but I am more excited to go home. Ang sarap ng pakiramdam,” he said.
Robi also got candid about the challenges of parenthood. “It’s really hard kasi ngayon walang kaming yaya. We’re training one because babalik na ako sa work,” he relayed. Â
Despite the challenges, the Pinoy Big Brother host expressed how much he enjoys being a hands-on father. “Diaper change, hele, I love doing stuff with the baby. I love being a father to him. Ang sarap ng pakiramdam,” he said.
Reflecting on the best and most challenging aspects of fatherhood, Robi remarked: “The best and hardest part, I think, is seeing him grow up because I just want to pause time eh, sometimes. Sometimes I want to say gusto na kitang kausapin like I want him to respond, but there are times din na I want time to pause kasi it’s this moment na it is just ours to keep.”
In the same interview, Robi also revealed the inspiration behind his son’s name.
“We named him Emmanuel. We found out the gender during simbang gabi and then nung gospel, dun sa gospel sinabi na, ‘And you shall name him Emmanuel,’ so very perfect dun sa ano namin sa scenario namin because we feel it. God is with us,” he highlighted.
It was in June when Robi announced the arrival of his first child with his wife, Maiqui Pineda.
In September, the television host celebrated his 37th birthday and reflected on fatherhood and the lessons he has learned since becoming a dad.
“Learning the ABCs of fatherhood, one little note at a time. 🎹❤️,” he wrote on his Instagram page.
He went on: “Somehow, life has a funny way of teaching you the most important lessons when you least expect them. Getting to know this little human, learning more about my wife, and discovering new sides of myself along the way have been some of the greatest blessings I could ever receive.” Â
