PVL: Sabete-Escamillan powers Nxled past Galeries to sustain perfect run

MANILA — Nxled sustained its perfect run by turning back winless Galeries Tower, 25-16, 22-25, 25-17, 25-19, in the 2026 Premier Volleyball League All-Filipino Conference Siklab series on Thursday at the Mall of Asia Arena in Pasay City.

A big game from Jonah Sabete-Escamillan powered the Chameleons to their third straight win, getting a hold of the solo lead.

She produced 22 points on 18 attacks, three blocks, one ace that went with nine receptions and six digs, earning Player of the Game honors.

But for her, it was just helping the squad take the victory.

“Always support lang naman ako sa mga teammates ko. Like, kung ano lang yung need ko gawin, yun lang ang kailangan kong gawin kasi yun nga, we know naman din yung mga teammates ko, mga grabe din sila,” said Sabete-Escamillan.

“Magandang pasimula, hanggang dulo na sana,” she also said.

They regained their ways in the third set after a second set lapse, eventually overpowering the Galeries side in attacks 61-46, and in blocks, 14-4.

The Fil-American duo of MJ Phillips and Brooke Van Sickle added 14 and 12 points, respectively, as Gel Cayuna orchestrated the offense with 20 excellent sets.

On the other hand, it was Alyssa Bertolano who led the charge with 13 points in the loss.
