Li Yunrui, Meng Ziyi’s new period drama to stream on Disney+

The Chinese period drama “Tigers Sniff the Rose,” which reunites actors Li Yunrui and Meng Ziyi, will be available to stream in the Philippines on Disney+, the streaming platform announced Thursday.

In a statement, Disney+ said the series would premiere on October 23.

The series follows the relationship between a princess and a common-born scholar.

“Together the pair will work to navigate their emotions as well as the turbulent power struggles of the imperial court in the hope of resolving a national crisis and bringing lasting peace and prosperity to the realm,” Disney+ said.

The drama’s arrival on Disney+ is part of the streaming platform’s efforts to expand its library of Asian content, particularly Chinese-language series.

“Tigers Sniff the Rose” marks the reunion of Ziyi and Yunrui, who were previously paired in the 2024 series “Blossom.”

Yunrui previously competed in the idol survival show “Produce Camp 2019.” He is also known for his roles in the “Creation of the Gods” films and television dramas such as “Love Like the Galaxy” and “The Last Immortal.”

Meanwhile, Ziyi is known for her roles in “The Legend of the Condor Heroes” and “The Untamed.” More recently, she starred opposite He Yu in “Blossoms of Power.”
