Julia Barretto reveals the genre she and Joshua Garcia want to explore in a future series

Julia Barretto revealed the kind of series she and Joshua Garcia would like to work on together in the future.

The onscreen pair once worked together on a series, the ABS-CBN show Ngayon at Kailanman in 2018.

In an interview with Bianca Gonzalez on The B Side, Julia recalled a conversation she had with Joshua toward the end of filming about the kind of project they wanted to do next.

“Nung towards the end na nga of our shooting, meron na kaming dream project ni Josh. We were already talking about it,” she recounted. “[Sabi ni Josh], ‘Ju, ano na gagawin natin next?’ We were watching this movie sa standby area namin. We’re like, gawa naman tayo ng action comedy.”

Julia went on to explain that they wanted to explore a lighter genre, particularly comedy, which would offer a different atmosphere on set.

“Puwede bang may comedy naman ulit? Nami-miss din namin ‘yung ganung lightness on set. And then we also wanana do comedy just to break it off, like something funny like that,” she said.

In the same interview, Julia was also asked whether she would consider becoming a producer in the future.

“If it is welcomed but I would want to have like a purposeful contribution, not just like ’cause I want to be a producer. I want ‘yung may contribution ka talaga, like you have a purposeful role,” she highlighted.

For now, Julia shared that she is happy focusing on acting and fulfilling her responsibilities as an actress. “But I am also happy right now just playing the character and I just go to promo,” she said.

Julia recently starred in the Star Cinema hit movie Always Yours, Never Mine alongside Joshua Garcia.

The movie centers on two individuals who “across thirty years and different versions of themselves, keep finding each other at the edges of their lives. Yet every reunion arrives with a choice, and every choice leads them toward one life while taking them farther from another,” according to its official synopsis.
