Why Fashion Brands Should Be Watching Alex Eala

With a growing presence at major fashion events and a recognizable personal style on and off court, Alex Eala is quickly becoming one of the sport’s most compelling fashion figures.

Following the US Open, Alex made her New York Fashion Week debut with appearances at Calvin Klein, Michael Kors, and Tory Burch.

According to Lefty, Alex’s appearance at Calvin Klein during New York Fashion Week generated an estimated $502,000 in Earned Media Value (EMV). EMV estimates the value of brand exposure generated through social content, engagement, and media coverage. In simple terms, Alex got the people talking about Calvin Klein.

Her presence at Paris Fashion Week further cemented her fashion influence. Alex attended her first Chanel show alongside her mother, a fitting moment for someone who has often been spotted wearing the French house both on and off the court.

But one brand recognized Alex’s potential long before Fashion Week came calling: Nike.

Alex signed with Nike in 2019, while she was still a junior player. Since then, the brand has dressed Alex for her tournaments. From her signature sampaguita hair tie to the NikeCourt Alex Eala T-shirt that sold out upon release, the partnership has helped amplify her Filipino identity to a global audience.

Nike also created a custom on-court dress for her US Open appearance, bringing a stylish approach to the tournament’s biggest stage. Seven years after that initial signing, Nike’s early investment looks increasingly well-timed.

In sports marketing, an athlete’s influence can grow almost overnight. A breakout tournament, a viral outfit, or a Fashion Week appearance can introduce them to a whole new audience. A major fashion partnership feels like a natural next chapter for Alex Eala. The question is no longer about the influence she has, but which brand will make the next major move.
