Formula 5 Celebrates Its Second Anniversary with a Concert at the Music Museum
Two years after coming together, Formula 5 marks a milestone with a concert that celebrates not only its music but also the people, faith, and perseverance that brought the group to where it is today.
For Formula 5, performing at the Music Museum for the first time is more than another milestone in their musical journey. It is a celebration of two years of hard work, personal growth, and the bond that has kept the group together through changing circumstances.

“It’s been two years since Formula 5 was formed. And in these two years, it’s a celebration of our hard work and each and every one of us who stayed in this group,” shares Frank Lloyd Mamaril.
“It’s a testament that when you work hard, that you give your all, that something will happen, and this is one of them,” he adds.
Before becoming Formula 5, each member had already established himself as an individual artist, bringing different strengths, experiences, and musical backgrounds to the group. When their talents came together, however, they discovered something greater than what they could accomplish alone: A harmonious sound shaped by their individual identities and shared commitment.
Coming from different parts of the Philippines, the members initially had to learn about one another and navigate the challenges of building a group from the ground up. What began as a musical collaboration gradually developed into something much deeper.
“This isn’t just a singing group, but rather a family,” Kirby Bas explains.

A Family Built Through Music
Formula 5’s journey has not been without change. With two members having left the group, the remaining four have continued to strengthen their connection and establish a clearer identity for Formula 5.
At the heart of this journey are its four active members: Frank Lloyd Mamaril, Kirby Bas, Kier, and Shone Ejusa. Each brings a distinct set of experiences and talents, creating a group that extends beyond singing into songwriting, production, and performance.
Their journey is also shared with their supporters, affectionately called The Fifth. For the group, their fans are not simply an audience but an integral part of the family that continues to grow alongside them.
As Kirby puts it, “performers may stand in the limelight, but that spotlight is not theirs alone. It also belongs to the people who support them”.
The group believes that being a performer requires more than delivering great vocals. It also means carrying the right attitude, recognizing the people who make the journey possible, and remaining grounded despite being in the public eye.
The Four Voices Behind Formula 5
Frank Lloyd Mamaril
An established entertainment director, Frank Lloyd Mamaril has worked with some of the Philippines’ prominent artists, including Lani Misalucha, Morissette, and Martin Nievera. As principal of FLM Creatives and Productions and TV Special Director of Miss Universe Philippines 2022, he has built extensive experience working across productions for major broadcasters and producers.

Now serving as Formula 5’s manager and a recording artist, Frank brings his creative direction and industry knowledge into the group’s musical journey. His work also includes his original song “Made to Believe” and producing G22‘s “Takin’ Over.”
Despite his accomplishments behind the camera, Frank’s decision to remain with Formula 5 comes down to something much more personal: his happiness.

“I am happy here. I am happy now. I am happy where we are going,” he shares.
For Frank, being part of Formula 5 is a conscious choice to continue pursuing something that brings him fulfillment, even while maintaining his career as a director.
Kirby Bas
A singer and violinist from Agusan del Sur, Kirby Bas brings musical depth and heart to Formula 5. His experience includes competing on TV5’s Sing Galing in 2022 and reaching the top tiers of GMA Network’s The Clash in 2023, where he performed OPM and acoustic covers such as “Buwan” and “Panalangin.”

Beyond singing, Kirby has explored hosting and modeling. He was crowned Mister Teen Globe Philippines 2021 and has appeared on programs including The Clash and TiktoClock. As a solo artist, he continues to develop his sound through his original single “Hayaan.”
His perspective on performing extends beyond technical ability. For Kirby, the spotlight is an opportunity to acknowledge the people who have supported the group throughout its journey.

Faith is also central to his musical expression. During the concert, one of his songs serves as a praise song offered to the Lord, reflecting his gratitude for the opportunities and blessings that have brought Formula 5 to this point.

Kier
As a singer, songwriter, and television host, Kier brings a distinct storytelling sensibility to Formula 5. His songwriting draws from personal experiences and distinctly Filipino hugot, transforming emotions into songs that listeners can relate to.

As the group’s songwriter, he has penned tracks including “Pahiram” and “Sa Darating na Pasko.” He also continues to pursue his solo career through his six-track EP, In Between.
For Kier, Formula 5’s performances are about more than showing audiences that the members can sing. They are an opportunity to communicate the group’s identity and what it has to offer.

He wants audiences to leave with a genuine understanding of Formula 5—not simply as a singing group but as performers with a story, a purpose, and a journey that has brought them to the stage.

Shone Ejusa
A singer, songwriter, and recording artist from Negros Occidental, Shone Ejusa brings a dynamic presence to Formula 5, both onstage and online.

Named TikTok PH Rising Livestreamer of the Year in 2023, he uses livestreaming and music to entertain audiences, spread positivity, and build meaningful connections with his supporters.
His discography includes his 2023 debut single “Pagtanggap,” alongside “Now What?,” “Di Na Ka?,” and “Kailangan Kita.” These releases reflect his continuing development as an individual artist while contributing to the diverse musical identities within Formula 5.

For Shone, the Music Museum holds a special place in the group’s story. It is where Formula 5 first performed “Himala” together, making their return to the venue a meaningful opportunity to revisit their beginnings and recognize how far they have come.

Returning to Where It All Began
One of the most meaningful moments in Formula 5’s Music Museum concert is the return of “Himala,” the song the members first sang together at the venue.
Revisiting the song allows them to reflect on their beginnings and recognize the difference between the group they were then and the performers they have become. With a more defined identity and greater confidence in their collective sound, the members approach the performance with a renewed sense of purpose.

Shone describes the Music Museum as a place the group would love to revisit, given its significance in their shared history.
Their families remain another constant throughout the journey. Regardless of where Formula 5 performs, their loved ones continue to show up and provide support, reminding the members that the work they put into their craft is shared with the people who believe in them.
Behind the performances, the members also maintain careers in production. Frank works as a director, two members work as stage managers, and one is a songwriter. Their experiences behind the scenes allow them to understand the many people and processes that contribute to a successful production.
They also receive guidance from people across the entertainment industry, many of whom have come to recognize them not only for their production work but also for their abilities as singers.
For Formula 5, these experiences have helped shape their understanding of what it means to be complete performers, artists who appreciate both the work that happens behind the scenes and the responsibility that comes with stepping into the spotlight.

Music, Faith, and the People Who Make It Possible
The concert is also an expression of gratitude. For Kirby, offering a praise song is his way of thanking the Lord for providing the opportunities and resources that have allowed him to pursue his musical journey.
The members likewise recognize that their progress has been shaped by the people who have stood beside them, from their families and industry mentors to their loyal supporters, The Fifth.
Kier hopes audiences will recognize that Formula 5 has something meaningful to offer beyond its melodic sound. The group wants to demonstrate that its members are genuine performers who have worked their way up from the bottom, each carrying a story of perseverance and growth.
Their journey serves as a reminder that people from different backgrounds can come together and create something meaningful when surrounded by the right people and allowed to grow.
For the members, the night is particularly memorable because they believe the Lord aligned the concert for them, regardless of the challenges that may come their way, rain or shine.

Choosing Your Family, Again and Again
If two years have taught Formula 5 anything, it is that building a group requires more than talent. It requires choosing to remain committed to one another, even when circumstances change.
“You have to start a family, and in this family, you have to choose them all the time,” Kirby shares.
It is a sentiment that captures the heart of Formula 5’s journey. The group’s identity is not defined solely by the songs it performs or the stages it occupies but also by the relationships its members continue to nurture.
Their story also reflects the importance of believing in a dream before knowing exactly where it will lead. From individual artists with different backgrounds to a group celebrating its first-ever concert at the Music Museum, Formula 5 has continued to take steps toward a future shaped by hard work, faith, and shared ambition.

Moving Forward With New Music
As Formula 5 continues to grow, the group is also introducing new music to audiences.
Their single “Move” serves as the official swimsuit song of Mutya ng Pilipinas, while Kirby Bas’ “The One” is the official long-gown song. The releases offer another opportunity for the group’s music to reach audiences through pageant-related content, social media posts, reels, and stories.
With these projects, Formula 5 continues to explore opportunities that bring together its members’ individual talents and collective identity.
For Formula 5, the first-ever Music Museum concert is both a celebration of how far they have come and a reminder of what lies ahead. And as long as they continue choosing one another, believing in their dreams, and acknowledging the people who support them, their story remains one worth singing about.
