Mika Salamanca waiting for ‘God’s sign’ before making relationship official with Will Ashley
Mika Salamanca is taking her time before deciding whether to enter a relationship with Will Ashley, saying she is waiting for God’s guidance before giving the actor an answer.
In an interview with GMA News, the two were asked about the status of their relationship, including whether their growing closeness had already turned into an official romance.
Mika admitted that she has yet to say “yes,” although her response suggested that the possibility of them becoming a couple remained open.
“Hindi pa,” the actress said with a laugh before asking Will if he was still willing to pursue her.
“Kayang kaya,” Will confidently replied.
When asked what she was waiting for before making her decision, Mika explained that she wanted to feel that she had received a “go signal” from God.
“Hinihintay ko? Siguro ‘yung ibibigay sa akin na go signal ng Panginoon. Kasi mararamdaman mo po ‘yun,” she shared.
The Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition Kapuso Big Winner revealed that she already had a particular sign in mind, but chose to keep it to herself, joking that Will might try to make it happen if she disclosed what it was.
For Mika, the decision carries greater weight because she wants her next relationship to be one that lasts.
“Siyempre…tumatanda na tayo. Ang next na magiging ka-partner ko gusto ko [siya] na. Kasi pagod na po ako. Pagod na akong masaktan. Pagod na akong mag-fail,” she said.
The actress added that she had been praying for the right person to come into her life, expressing her hope that her next relationship would lead to a lasting partnership.
“Kaya pinapanalangin ko talaga sa Panginoon [na] ‘Kung may ibibigay ka Panginoon na next na tao sa akin, ibigay mo na ‘yung tama. Ibigay mo na ‘yung talagang makakasama ko’,” she added.
Their growing closeness has also caught the attention of their co-star Vince Maristela, who teased them about their sweetness whenever they work together.
“Ang masasabi ko lang, kapag nagta-taping [kami], napapa-‘Sana all’ na lang ako,” Vince said.
Will previously discussed his relationship with Mika during an interview with Boy Abunda on October 16, clarifying that they are still in the courtship stage.
He explained that although he had wanted to pursue Mika earlier, the timing had not worked out because both of them had other commitments and separate careers.
“Hindi pa, wala pa. Parang ano pa lang talaga, ligawan. Nandun pa kami sa ini-enjoy pa lang talaga namin eh sa ngayon ‘yung mga nangyayari sa mga buhay namin,” he said.
Will also recalled respecting Mika’s decision to turn him down in the past.
“Talagang hindi lang in-allow ng panahon ‘yung gusto ko that time, that very moment kasi nga marami pa kaming kailangan gawin and ni-respect ko talaga naman ‘yun kasi nga meron kaming mga iba’t ibang careers, hindi naman kami magksama, sa PBB lang talaga,” he stated.
Despite the circumstances, Will eventually decided to ask Mika if he could try courting her again. He said the challenges they experienced helped them grow closer and understand each other better.
“Nagsabi ako ulit sa kanya na puwede ako ulit manligaw? Puwede ba ako ulit mag-try kasi ang dami na rin naming napagdaan. Kumbaga sa dami ng mga dumating na problema sa amin iyon ‘yung naging way para mas maging close kami talaga at mas makilala namin ‘yung isa’t isa,” he remarked.
Mika and Will’s bond developed during their time as housemates on Pinoy Big Brother Celebrity Collab Edition. Since leaving the reality show, their friendship has continued to grow, with Will now making an attempt to win Mika’s heart.
