‘Filipiñana’ actress Jorrybell Agoto’s family appeals for financial help amid critical condition
The family of actress Jorrybell Agoto is appealing for financial assistance as she remains in critical condition due to Lymphoma.
Jorrybell is the lead star of Filipiñana, the Philippines’ official entry for Best International Feature Film for the 2027 Oscars.
In a Facebook post on October 23, Jorrybell’s brother, Jed, called on government officials and the public to help cover the actress’s mounting medical expenses as she continues to battle cancer.
Imee Marcos, at Cong. Sandro Marcos,” he wrote.
Jed added that his sister represents the Philippines on the international stage through her role in Filipiñana. He appealed to the government officials, noting that the actress now needs support as she fights for her life.
In his post, Jed also shared the latest developments in his sister’s condition. According to him, Jorrybell had been transferred back to the hospital’s Critical Care Unit (CCU) for closer monitoring after her blood pressure dropped significantly and her heart rate reached 170 beats per minute.
Jorrybell also underwent a procedure to insert bilateral Blake drains to remove fluid from both lungs. Jed said doctors had discovered three tumors in her left lung.
Because of the severity of her pain, her medical team decided to intubate her to allow her body to rest, according to her brother’s account.
Jed said the family was struggling to keep up with the growing costs of her hospital stay, procedures, and medication.
In the post, Jed included the family’s bank and e-wallet details, along with a GoFundMe page where supporters can send donations to help pay for Jorrybell’s treatment. He encouraged those who cannot provide financial assistance to share the appeal so it could reach more people, including the officials they had called on for help.
“Please include ate in your prayers din po. ❤️🙏,” he ended.
Meanwhile, Jorrybell’s friends in the entertainment industry previously organized a fundraising activity for her treatment. On October 19, they held a Pay-What-You-Can screening at Basta Cafe, featuring films in which the actress had appeared.
