“I want to say there is only one Pops. There is only one style ni Pops. Iyan ang gusto ko sabihin. My style is my style. Pwede magbago ng konti, minsan, pero babalikan ko yung Pops,” she said Sunday in Parañaque City.
Among the guest performers at her concert—set to be held on November 26 at the New Performing Arts Theater—are Vina Morales, Erik Santos, Jay Durias, Martin Nievera, and Regine Velasquez-Alcasid.
The singer said she she still had no plans to retire.
“There is always something. I always want to be productive. Marami na kami line-up shows for next year. Kung makasingit din ako tours outside the country, I would highly appreciate that. I love performing here but it is an extra bonus for me doing it for kababayans. I love seeing how happy they are,” she explained.
She admitted that while aging is inevitable, she strives to look and feel her best.
“I keep active, I watch my diet… ageing is something we cannot escape. But, siguro, on my part, it’s a matter of perspective lang din. Ako, I continue learning, discovering things. It’s what drives me,” she said.
When it comes to love, however, Pops teased she believes “age does not matter.
“Age does not matter. A lot of people have proven that. 2026 na. It happens. Age does not matter. It is just a matter of getting a long. And dapat stable,” she said.
